MADISON, Wis. - Two Western Collegiate Hockey Association women's teams - Bemidji State University and the University of Wisconsin - will skate in the first ever women's United States Hockey Hall of Fame Game at the Hippodrome in Eveleth, Minn. on Saturday, Oct. 18. Face-off is set for 6:07 pm CT.

The U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game will be the second contest of the 2008-09 WCHA season for both Wisconsin and Bemidji State. The Beavers, coached by former U.S. men's Olympian Steve Sertich, open conference play with a two-game series versus Wisconsin, which is coached by former U.S. Olympian and Hall of Famer Mark Johnson. The first game is scheduled to be played in Bemidji on Oct. 17 while the following night the teams travel to Eveleth, Minn., the home of the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame.

A men's U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game has been played for over 30 years and this year's event will be held Saturday, Oct. 11 in Denver, Colo., when the WCHA's University of Denver Pioneers host Notre Dame of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) at Magness Arena. That game will follow the induction of four new U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame members - former WCHA stars Brett Hull (Univ. of Minnesota Duluth) and Mike Richter (Univ. of Wisconsin), along with Brian Leetch and Cammi Granato, the first women's inductee - in Denver on Friday, Oct. 10.
